Domain SPO

Up to shear strains of 3.5-4, the domain's long axis rotation paths follow that of the long axis of the finite strain ellipse (solid curve in upper diagram).

However, above these shear strains the domains attain a stable orientation which is slightly steeper at angles of 20° with respect to the SZB.

In the lower diagram the b/a ratios are larger than the one of the finite strain ellipse (solid black curve).

Similar to the grain's SPO a process must be activated for the preservation of the steady state domain SPOs during the second part of the experiments.

Which is the main process responsible for the preservation of the stable domain and grain SPOs? In order to find an answer to this question a closer look to strain distribution pattern within the sample materials is required.
